River Advice is looking for an experienced and outstanding Helmsman / Helmswoman to lead our vessels on board in cooperation with the Second Captain. If you have a passion for exploration, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to discover the beautiful sights of Europe while you work.

As Helmsman / Helmswoman, your responsibilities include assistance with the management of the ship and the safety of our crew and guests. You will work closely with the Second Captain and play a vital role in training the deckhands and sailors.

You have a good command of German and/or English, a completed training with valid captain’s licences for the Rhine/Danube/Elbe and/or other rivers, radar and radiotelephony certificates and at least 1 years of experience in a similar position. If you also have certificates for “breathing apparatus carrier” and “first aid”, that’s a big plus.
