We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Nautical Coordinator to support the daily nautical and operational activities of our fleet. The role ensures smooth coordination between onboard teams, shore-based operations, and external stakeholders, contributing to safe, efficient, and high-quality maritime-touristic operations.
Your tasks:
- Responsible for overall operational planning, including crew shift scheduling, itinerary planning, and coordination of daily and seasonal operations across the fleet
- Ensures smooth and timely coordination of all embarkation and disembarkation processes for crew and guests’ movements
- Manages real-time operational changes such as delays, itinerary modifications, crew replacements, and other disruptions, ensuring minimal impact on operations
- Maintains and updates operational systems such as Cruise Planner and JUP, ensuring accurate and up-to-date operational information at all times
- Logs, tracks, and follow up on technical faults, operational breakdowns, and incidents, ensuring proper documentation and resolution
- Provides administrative support to the operations team, ensuring structured information management, reporting, and data accuracy across systems
- Manages staff deployment planning across vessels, ensuring correct allocation of crew, and supports training coordination and compliance with required certifications
- Coordinates with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure operational readiness and timely execution of required services
- Monitors pending operational issues and supports the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and operational performance
Your Profile:
- 2+ years of experience in nautical, maritime, tourism, or operational coordination roles
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Good understanding of maritime or river operations (preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook)
- Fluent in English (mandatory); Portuguese
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage dynamic operational changes
- Flexibility to adapt to operational needs and schedules
Nice to have:
- Experience in river cruise or maritime-tourism operations
- Knowledge of Portuguese river navigation (e.g. Douro operations)
- Familiarity with crew coordination and vessel scheduling systems
