As a Deckhand All Around (Technic/Nautic), you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth technical operation and safe nautical handling of the vessel. This position offers a varied and hands-on working environment, combining shipboard engineering support with deck and safety duties.
You will work closely with engineers and nautical team, assisting them with ship maintenance and repair tasks. This includes performing routine maintenance on hotel and ship machinery according to manuals, such as filter changes, oil changes, equipment inspections, and the general upkeep of machinery and technical systems on board.

A central part of your role will be the permanent monitoring of the electronic repair logbook (E-log) and remaining available for guest-related technical requests. You will carry out small repairs independently and report to the engineer when professional service is required, particularly for hospitality-related areas such as guest cabins, reception, galley/kitchen, and laundry. At all times, you are expected to carry out your duties in a pleasant, courteous, and attentive manner toward both guests and crew. You will also support process optimization and cost-efficient work practices, while helping to maintain technical inventories relevant to your department. Attention to detail, organization, and a proactive mindset are essential in keeping operations efficient and reliable.
On the nautical side, your responsibilities will include setting and securing the gangway, monitoring safety precautions. You may also assist with on-board deliveries (technical, nautical, catering, and guest-related), depending on time and work schedule.

You will support compliance with safety procedures and assist the nautical team during ship maneuvers and lock passages on few sailing stretches. This includes maintaining constant readiness during docking and undocking, monitoring guests when passing low bridges, roping off stairs when necessary, and wearing life vests and proper workwear at all times.
Your duties will further include independent and regular monitoring of ropes and wires, general ship care, and cleaning and maintenance work on deck, technical rooms, including painting tasks.
To qualify for this position, a good command of English and Schifferdienstbuch is required. Previous experience in a similar technical or nautical role is an advantage, but we primarily value reliability, hands-on attitude, safety awareness, and willingness to learn.
